What information is used when you read Mykonos Illustrated, enable external content, contact us or subscribe.

Optional 3D models
Sketchfab provides optional interactive 3D models. The viewer is absent until you allow Sketchfab. Enabling it connects your browser directly to the provider, sharing your IP address and browser information; the provider may use its own cookies or storage. We request the viewer’s DNT mode to disable its audience tracking. Your previous map choices do not enable this provider. Disable Sketchfab in Cookie settings to remove the viewer. This does not undo previous transmissions or clear third-party storage.
Scope and privacy contact
This notice covers the publication at mykonosillustrated.com, including its Greek edition. The former mykonosnoir.com and mykonosnoir.gr domains redirect to it. For privacy requests, email info@mykonosillustrated.com. External websites have their own privacy notices.
Reading and site security
You can read without an account. Delivering pages requires network and technical data, including an IP address, requested address, time and browser information. Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery and security through Cloudflare Workers. Technical logs and anti-abuse processing help deliver and protect the service; our basis for this necessary processing is the legitimate interest in operating a secure publication.
We do not install advertising pixels or a site-owned audience tracker. Optional external maps and 3D viewers remain disabled until you choose to enable them. When enabled, the selected provider receives the network and browser information needed to load its content.
Contact and corrections
The contact form sends your name, email, subject, enquiry type and full message through Cloudflare Email Service to the editorial inbox hosted by Google Workspace. We use these details to handle and reply to your enquiry, based on our legitimate interest in editorial correspondence. Sending a message does not subscribe you to the newsletter or create a public profile.
Your browser sends the message only to our site. Our Cloudflare Worker validates it and passes it to Cloudflare Email Service for delivery. The site database stores only temporary network-address hashes and attempt counts to limit abuse, without message text, contact email or raw IP; these records expire within ten minutes and are cleared on later valid attempts. Cloudflare and Google process the message for delivery and mailbox storage. Provider processing may take place outside the EEA; see their privacy notices. Messages in the editorial mailbox follow the correspondence-retention criteria below.
Please send only information needed for your request. Avoid identity documents, passwords or sensitive information about yourself or others. Ordinary email is not a secure anonymous whistleblowing channel. Contact us first to discuss a sensitive submission.
Providers and international processing
Infrastructure providers process technical information needed to host and secure the site; access to the subscriber list is restricted to authorised administration. Enabled OpenStreetMap, VesselFinder and Sketchfab features connect your browser directly to the selected provider. They receive the network and device information needed for those requests and apply their own policies. Our servers retrieve weather and travel-board data without sending the visitor’s IP address to those data sources.
Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare describes its processing locations and transfer safeguards in its privacy information. We do not promise exclusive storage in Greece. Information may also be disclosed where a valid legal obligation requires it. We do not use your subscription data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Retention and editorial records
Correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request, follow up and establish or defend legal claims. Retention depends on whether the matter is closed, a correction needs an evidence trail, or a legal obligation applies. Hosting and email-provider logs and backups follow the relevant service’s retention settings; deletion from an active list does not itself erase every provider backup. Published source references and dated corrections may remain as part of the editorial archive, subject to applicable rights and journalistic protections.
Your rights
Depending on the processing, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw newsletter or external-content consent at any time. Email info@mykonosillustrated.com with your request; we may need proportionate information to verify a request. Requests are normally answered within one month; a lawful extension, where needed, must be explained within that month. Rights are subject to applicable exceptions, including freedom of expression and information.
You may complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority or the competent supervisory authority where you live or work. You do not need to contact us first to exercise that right. Material changes to this notice will be dated here, and fresh consent will be requested where required.
Journalists and contributor proposals
The active Contact form also accepts proposals from journalists and writers, including people without published work. You can send a short introduction, a story idea and, if you wish, links or an unpublished writing sample in the message. Published clips are not required. The message goes through Cloudflare Email Service to the editorial Google Workspace inbox as described in the correspondence section above; it is not stored as a contributor profile in our site database.
We use the proposal to assess the idea and reply, under the correspondence notice above. Submitting does not subscribe you to the newsletter, guarantee an assignment or grant publication rights. For access, correction or deletion requests, email info@mykonosillustrated.com.
