The municipal committee approved a 12-month extension for cadastral and road-design studies after the municipality changed the planned alignment. The decision concerns study work, not a road-building timetable.
BEACH SAFETY · MUNICIPAL DECISION
A municipal decision covers 1–31 October at the island’s designated busy beaches and approves a €109,676.45 pre-VAT contract increase. The signed amendment and actual October service remain to be verified.
SPORT · RACE GUIDE
The organiser has published three routes for 25 October: 1 km at 16:00, 3 km at 16:30 and 6 km at 17:00. Entry is free, with a 150-person registration limit.
PORT · PRACTICAL INFORMATION
A request does not secure a berth. Reading the Port Fund’s booking conditions alongside its linked tariff decisions explains the two 24-hour deadlines, the catamaran supplement and why a daily rate is not the whole bill.
LOCAL ECONOMY · MUNICIPAL DECISIONS
The Municipal Committee sets €4,800 a year for Ano Mera and €8,400 for Mykonians in the reserved 30% of kiosk positions. Comparison with the June decisions shows what has changed—and what the new document does not settle.

Mykonos Council approved a 90-day extension for the three courts in Ano Mera. The decision records a revised project total of €281,338.62 including VAT, without adding a new budget increase.
EDUCATION · MUNICIPAL FUNDING
€51,744 is earmarked for cleaning payroll through December 2026 and €27,710 for school operating costs. The two decisions establish acceptance of funding, with implementation still to be traced.

The municipal council has approved the need for accommodation leases. Its supporting proposal envisages buildings for 15–25 people each, with tender terms still to follow.

The municipal council has set support for five nurses. Its decision defines the financial commitment; staffing and the start of treatment still require separate confirmation.
TRANSPORT · AIRPORT
Runway reconstruction brings weekly winter closures. The dates and holiday exceptions travellers need to check.

2026 / SEASON OUTLOOK
What the airport figures, new hotel addresses and announced winter works mean for the next Mykonos season.
The practical outlook depends on three separate questions: how people are travelling, which places are operating, and what changes on the dates of the visit.
Fraport’s provisional figures show 426,229 airport passengers in August, up 7.5% on August 2025. This is a transport indicator: it does not measure unique visitors, hotel occupancy or spending. The year-to-date comparison and source tables are in the 2026 Report.
Read the traffic comparison →The announced Thursday runway suspensions concern the winter period, not current September travel. For a gathering or work trip, check the airline’s schedule before committing to arrival and departure days. Terminal availability does not mean that a scheduled passenger flight can use the runway during a suspension.
Read the airport works report →Four Seasons and Fouquet’s add documented operating addresses in different parts of the island. Their summer opening statements do not establish winter availability. Anyone planning later in the year needs confirmation of accommodation, dining and group arrangements for the same dates, rather than assuming the full summer offer continues.
