Korfos stadium repairs: a new agreement after the earlier procurement was halted
The committee approves draft cooperation terms with a €673,270.66 budget including VAT. The record describes a change to works procurement, not a completed repair or a reopening date.

What the committee approved
Mykonos Municipal Committee approved the purpose and draft terms of a cooperation agreement with Anaptyxiaki Prooptiki AE on 29 September for repairs to the track and auxiliary facilities at the municipal stadium in Korfos. Decision 234/2026 gives a budget of €542,960.20 before VAT, or €673,270.66 including VAT, and a 27-month agreement duration.
For athletes, clubs and residents, the distinction is consequential: approval of these terms does not establish that construction has begun or when the facilities will be available. The 27 months describe the agreement’s duration, not a verified reopening countdown from the committee meeting.
Why the procurement route changed
The decision links the damage to the storm of 31 March 2025 and describes an earlier attempt to procure the restoration as a supply contract through negotiation without prior publication. According to the municipal record, the pre-contract review prevented signature in July 2026; the development organisation subsequently cancelled that procurement. The project was removed from the earlier cooperation agreement because it must be tendered as works.
The new decision records the municipality’s technical service as unable at this stage to prepare the study, award and supervise the works itself. It therefore seeks cooperation with the development organisation for the assignment and supervision process. This account comes from the committee decision; the underlying review act has not been independently examined for this report.
The next evidence residents need
The vote passed by majority. The minutes record Konstantinos Koukas opposing the agreement, rather than the repair project, over the development organisation’s role in municipal responsibilities.
A signed agreement, the works tender, award and implementation notices are the next records needed to establish progress. The published decision does not confirm a construction start, completed repairs or current public access. Those stages should remain separate when assessing what has changed at Korfos.
