Cruise levy: €1.92m approved for Mykonos, projects still to be named

The amount and the period
An Interior Ministry decision signed on 8 October allocates €1,924,584.95 to the Municipality of Mykonos from cruise-levy receipts for May–July 2026. The decision distributes €5,597,970 among 62 municipalities nationwide. Mykonos appears as a separate row in the official table; this is its allocation for that three-month settlement, not an annual total.
What the decision authorises
The ministry approves the grants for the construction and improvement of infrastructure and for strengthening the tourism product. It says the amounts are to be transferred to the beneficiary municipalities through a payment order to the Deposits and Loans Fund. That is a government allocation and payment mechanism. The document alone does not establish the date the amount reached Mykonos’s account or how the municipality has booked it.
The local test
No Mykonos project, contractor, location or delivery date is named in this decision. The public question now is which specific infrastructure needs the municipality chooses to fund and how those choices are recorded in its budget, decisions and contracts. A cruise-levy allocation should be followed through those later records before it is described as a finished improvement for residents or visitors.
