Mykonos Port Fund awards €18,600 contract for an AI procurement assistant
A 21 October decision assigns an internal procurement and compliance tool to VILABS. The published award does not establish that a contract has been signed or the system is operating.

What the decision actually awards
The president of the Mykonos Municipal Port Fund issued decision 107/2026 on 21 October, assigning the creation of a specialised AI-based digital assistant to VILABS O.E. The stated price is €15,000 before VAT, or €18,600 including 24% VAT, to be paid from the fund’s own 2026 resources.
This is an award decision for a service. The document does not show a signed contract, an acceptance test, a public launch or an assistant already in use. It also does not publish the detailed technical study to which it refers.
An administrative tool, not a visitor chatbot
The decision says the proposed assistant is intended to support procurement processes, improve administrative efficiency and help with regulatory compliance in port activities. It connects the need to what it calls severe understaffing, citing a finding in a State General Accounting Office audit. That description is the Port Fund’s stated rationale; the underlying audit finding was not independently examined for this report.
Nothing in the published decision establishes a customer-facing travel assistant, a new booking service or automated decisions for port users. The precise functions, human oversight and data handled by the system would need to be checked against the technical study and eventual contract.
How the €18,600 figure was reached
The decision cites a technical report dated 29 September with an indicative budget of €18,600 including VAT, a funding commitment dated 8 October, an invitation to submit an offer and a VILABS offer for the same amount. It approves a direct award and names the company as the contractor. The decision provides for payment after an invoice is submitted; it is not evidence that payment has already been made.
The date of the offer is inconsistent within the decision: the background refers to 15 October, while the award paragraph refers to 14 October. This report therefore does not assign a definite date to the offer. The award amount itself is stated consistently as €15,000 plus €3,600 VAT.
What to check next
For residents and port users, the practical test is whether a delivered tool makes the Port Fund’s work more accurate and accessible without weakening human responsibility for public decisions. The next verifiable records are the signed contract, the technical specifications, delivery or acceptance documents and any announced operating rules.
Mykonos Illustrated read the three-page decision on 23 October. We have not obtained the underlying technical study, contract or audit report and cannot verify the finished product or its effect on staffing. This development concerns the Port Fund’s administration, separate from its previously reported port-security procurement.
