What the committee approved

Mykonos Municipal Committee voted unanimously on 22 September to recommend keeping tuition at the Municipal Music School Georgios Axiotis at the 2025–26 level for the 2026–27 school year. Its published decision, numbered 231/2026, concerns a recommendation to the Municipal Council and gives €50 a month including VAT for music-learning classes. It gives €25 for September, explaining that lessons begin on 15 September. These are the amounts in the committee record, not a price inferred from a registration advert. We have not verified a subsequent council decision adopting them.

For a second or subsequent instrument or family member, the committee record specifies an additional €20 a month including VAT. That wording matters for families comparing options: it is an addition to the standard charge, not a €20 standalone fee for every family member. The document does not give an annual total, a payment schedule for the full school year or the number of places in each class.

Discounts and the adult guitar group

The committee record also proposes a 50% discount for employees of the municipality and its legal entities, covering the employment categories named in the text, and for teachers at Mykonos schools. The adult group guitar class would have a separate charge of €20 a month including VAT. The record does not say whether that group has places available now, nor does it give its meeting time or teacher.

The Culture Department's proposal cites earlier school decisions and asks that the existing rates remain unchanged. The committee agreed and authorised the mayor to take the next lawful steps. Because the agenda describes this as a recommendation to the Municipal Council, the committee's vote should not be mistaken for a separately verified final council decision or proof of class operation.

What families still need to check

A final council decision, if required and published, is the next document to check for the binding fee schedule. The school can confirm the current teaching timetable, available instruments, age groups, places and enrolment terms. None of those practical details is specified in decision 231/2026, so this report does not supply them from older notices.
